Electric Thoughts (a lyric from DLDown's Lazarus rather than a claim to imagination/profundity) is primarily a blog for letting you know what DLDown is up to, but has diversified somewhat in recent months as I keep wanting to write about other things.
DLDown is an Edinburgh-based acoustic/rock/jazz collective, founded in Aberdeen in 2005 by Tim Buick & myself; now continued as a Jo-solo-plus-hangers-on project. DLDown put out their debut album Puzzle in late 2006, and followed it up with Also, He Made the Stars... in autumn 2009 (follow links to listen/download/order CDs).
Electric Thoughts is also home to a few series of posts:
Also, He Made the Stars... Song by Song, giving a little insight into the background of some of the songs and the songwriting and recording process;
Odd Things We Sing, a bit of dissection of some of the songs that we sing along to, particularly focussing on worship songs sung in church; and
Petty Engineering Design Rants, which is pretty much what the title says, with particular emphasis on the word 'petty'.
In both OTWS and PEDR I tend to sound much more angry than I actually am, so take them with a pinch of salt!
